Path to Leadership: National Forum on Advancing Asian/Pacific Islander American Librarianship
The Chinese American Librarians Association, in partnership with the Asian/Pacific American Librarians Association, hosted a two half-day online forum to support leadership development opportunities for the community of Asian American and Pacific Islander American (APIA) library workers. Due to COVID-19, this national forum was held virtually. The forum took place on zoom via two half days in January 2022.
Funding provided forum participants at all levels to attend a reunion meeting event at the ALA Annual Conference 2022 in Washington D.C. This project produced a white paper documenting ideas for leadership development pipelines among APIA library workers and a curriculum outline for a leadership program specifically for APIA library workers. The poster highlights the experiences of archivists involved in Path to Leadership and what they gained from their participation.
Our white paper is now out! You can find the information session recording here, the slide deck, and the white paper here.
